Nando’s, the popular flame-grilled chicken chain, is the latest restaurant to announce it will open in the Cathedral City of Peterborough.
The restaurant plans to open a 100-seater eatery in the prime location of Cathedral Square, Peterborough’s recently revamped £11million public realm. Subject to planning application, the restaurant will open in the autumn.
Peter Atkinson, senior acquisitions manager, from Nando’s said: “We’re thrilled to be moving to Peterborough and have received a lot of support from local Nando’s fans. We’ve been interested in the city for some time now and have found an ideal location right beside the new fountains in Cathedral Square.”
Steve Bowyer, head of economic development at Opportunity Peterborough said: “We’re delighted that Nando’s is keen to open in Peterborough and look forward to welcoming them. We’re working hard to create a restaurant and café culture in the heart of the city and we’re having a number of other interesting conversations that will support this vision.
“Nando’s is a great family restaurant that will add to our expanding daytime and evening economy. As well as attracting big national chains, we’re also working to bring independent restaurants to Peterborough, to make sure the city has a broad appeal for both businesses and residents.”
