Free charities conference: last few places

Just a handful of places remain at the second annual conference aimed at providing help and advice to Peterborough-based charity trustees.

The event, Building a Future, has been organised by leading city accountants Rawlinsons to coincide with National Trustees Week. A number of high profile speakers from the charitable and financial sectors will be giving advice and tips on how charities and their trustees can work to strengthen their position now for future growth.

Rawlinsons, based in Lincoln Road, Peterborough, works with dozens of charities, both local and nationally affiliated branches, placing it perfectly to deliver a carefully targeted event.

Partner Mark Jackson said: “We are delighted with the response we have received to this event. Already we have around twice the number of people registered to attend than we did last year. That means more charities will receive useful information and there will be an increased opportunity for sharing tips and networking too.”

Speaking alongside Mark will be representatives from Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service, Institute of Fundraising East Anglia, HC Solicitors, Peterborough City Council and Thomas Cook. Subjects on the agenda include fundraising tips, protecting legacy giving, building short term income, tapping into businesses’ resources and latest updates from the Charity Commission.

• The conference is being held at the KingsGate Centre in Peterborough on Tuesday, November 1, and is free to attend. For more information contact Mark Jackson at Rawlinsons on 01733 568321 or email carolyn.lake@rawlinsons.co.uk
