Greater Peterborough Business Survey is launched

Companies in the Greater Peterborough area are being encouraged to take part in a new survey being launched by Opportunity Peterborough to gauge local business confidence.

The Greater Peterborough Business Survey, in association with city accountancy firm Rawlinsons, is designed to review the last 12 months and look at prospects going forward through 2014.

“There are a number of surveys which tend to focus on Cambridgeshire as a whole but there is nothing specifically aimed at Greater Peterborough itself,” said Neil Darwin, Chief Executive of Opportunity Peterborough.

“I am sure we all hear anecdotally that things are improving but this survey will be a
more representative measure of how things are across a broad range of business sectors and different sized companies.

“We will also be exploring perceived obstacles for growth and seeking input about the priority areas for ongoing investment in Peterborough,” he added.

The survey is being distributed across the Greater Peterborough business community with the closing date for responses in March. The results of the survey will then be made available in early April.

To encourage businesses to respond, each participant will be entered into a free draw to win an Amazon Kindle.

“As a company that has operated in Peterborough for over 70 years, we are delighted to be supporting this initiative to gauge the confidence in the local business economy. Shared confidence is an essential ingredient to encourage further investment,” said Rawlinsons’ senior partner Chris Collier.

“Peterborough has so often been in the shadow of Cambridge when it comes to county-wide surveys and business initiatives – this survey is aimed very specifically at Greater Peterborough which will give us a much clearer indication of just how the local economy is performing,” he added.
