In 2013/14, an extensive improvement to the railway infrastructure took place, cumulating in new signalling, new platforms, new lifts and a greatly improved capacity to move trains into and out of Peterborough.  During the extensive building and commissioning, the railway continued to run, with only a 48-hour blockage over Christmas 2013.  Alliancing between East Coast and Network Rail meant that the project was an engineering and customer success.

Gary Smithson will present the evening and anticipates being joined by various people who worked on the project, who will be able to provide an insight into joint working in the rail sector and the pitfalls and successes along the way.
