Nene Park is a thriving, highly regarded recreation facility combining the benefits of beautiful open  countryside set along the banks of the river Nene close to Peterborough and providing access to a range  of modern, community based recreational pursuits. Attracting all generations, the Park is a hub of activity and is enjoyed by many hundreds of thousands of people each year. Cared for by Nene Park Trust since  1988 as a registered charity, the Trust is in a sound financial position and continues to invest in the Park’s facilities.  
The Trust is looking to appoint a key individual to lead the Visitor Services team in the development and  implementation of the Trust’s visitor communications, marketing and visitor centre/ commercial retail  offer as well as other visitor related elements of the Trust’s work. This will enable the Trust deliver the  Trust’s strategy and site management plans, maintaining high standards of community and visitor  service throughout the 1,750 acre Nene Park. 

Key responsibilities of the Visitor Services Manager include:  

• Lead the visitor services team, managing performance and development of the team to ensure an  excellent standard of customer service at all times 
• Lead on the Trust’s retail operation, at Ferry Meadows Visitor Centre, ensuring that a more  commercial approach is taken to deliver the objectives set out in the five‐year business plan are achieved  
• Deliver and review the Trust’s communications and marketing strategy and action plans  
• Represent the Trust at City wide tourism and heritage partnerships   
• The successful applicant will require a flexible and versatile working approach with experience of  managing in a commercial/retail environment and effective marketing and management of visitor  facilities/attractions.   
• Above all, a positive, enthusiastic and customer‐focused approach, with excellent customer care and  effective communication skills are key for the post holder to be successful.
