Planning permission has been granted for 203 new homes to be built in Dogsthorpe on the former John Mansfield School site and playing field.
Consisting of 122 outright sale homes, and 81 new 1, 2 and 3 bedroom affordable homes, this new development site will help build much needed new homes for the city.
The 81 new affordable homes will be made up of 41 affordable rented homes, 22 shared ownership homes and 18 rent to buy, which is more than the standard 30% policy for the affordable homes split on a site such as this.
Cross Keys Homes’ Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “Building new homes in Peterborough is a critical part of our plans and we are delighted to have received planning permission to build over eighty new affordable homes.
“We are in discussions to deliver this development through Medesham Homes – our joint venture housing company run in partnership with Peterborough City Council.”
This development forms part of Cross Keys Homes’ long term strategic development plan with development work anticipated to start in September and the first new homes should be ready for people to start moving into from springtime next year.
