Local businesses Henson Crisp, ERT and Belvoir Lettings and Estate Agency are all backing this year’s YMCA Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Sleep Easy 2017 fundraising night that will see their staff teams join other local people to sleep out for a night to raise funds and awareness about youth homelessness.
Sleep Easy 2017 takes place under the stars at Peterborough Cathedral on Friday 29th September 2017 and will run from 7pm on Friday evening until 7am on the Saturday morning.
Jonathan Martin, CEO of YMCA Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, commented: “So far 31 amazing volunteers have signed up to take on the challenge” he continued “We are delighted to have Henson Crisp, ERT and Belvoir Lettings and Estate Agency on board, their support helps us to raise the profile of this serious and growing problem, and the funds they raise will ensure the YMCA can help support some of the most vulnerable young people in our community.
Recent Government statistics have show an alarming rise in homelessness, increasing by 60% in a single year.
Emma Dighton, Director of Belvoir Lettings and Estate Agency, said: “Homelessness is such a major problem both nationally and locally, we at Belvoir are determined to be part of the solution by working in partnership with the YMCA” She added, “We would encourage all local people to sign up and take part. Together with the YMCA we can all do something positive to make a real difference to people’s lives.”
YMCA has set itself a target of raising £7000 which will be used to support local young homeless people. To register yourself or your team to take part in Sleep Easy, please visit
