The Smart Manufacturing Alliance is creating a world-class manufacturing cluster across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
Set up as a joint venture between Opportunity Peterborough and the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority, the ambition is to unlock untapped potential within the sector, opening up new opportunities for collaboration, pushing the boundaries of R&D even further, and spurring on digitisation while ensuring manufacturers fully leverage the power of new technologies.
The Alliance runs regular networking events where experts also discuss topical issues relating to the sector. Members get exclusive access to diagnostics services free of charge to pinpoint perception and performance gaps with advice on next steps to make their business more productive and efficient. Their work is guided by an Advisory Board of sector experts and local industry leaders to ensure they tackle the most pressing challenges facing the sector.
The team is also working with Opportunity Peterborough to deliver the ACMI 4.0 programme which is helping SME manufacturers adopt the right Industry 4.0 technologies that can make the biggest difference to their performance.
