CKH receives Silver award for its veterans support

Cross Keys Homes (CKH) is celebrating having received the Silver award of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) highlighting its ever increasing commitment to supporting UK military personnel, reservists, veterans and their families.

CKH signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant in August 2022. The Covenant is a commitment made by organisations of all types to ensure those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, and those who have served in the past including their families, face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.

CKH has recently received the Silver Award for increasing the level of support it gives to members of the armed forces, their families and veterans who live in their homes, through its community based support services. The support available includes employment support, education or training opportunities and money advice. CKH employees are also able to signpost and refer people to specialist support services to help them receive any additional help needed.

CKH Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “We are really delighted to have received this silver award, recognising our strengthened commitment to supporting serving and veteran members of the armed forces within our organisation.  We house a number of military personnel from different backgrounds. We provide the specialist support they need, delivered with understanding and compassion by our dedicated team, ensuring everyone gets the help they need when they need it.

“We are also very proud to be able to support the family members of serving armed forces personnel and those who serve in Reserve Forces that are CKH employees.”
