Cross Keys Homes has been awarded nearly £6 million in the initial round of funding for the latest grant programme.
The housing association will use the money from the Homes and Communities agency to build 236 new homes – largely shared ownership – under the Shared Ownership and Affordable Homes Programme 2016 to 2021.
Cross Keys Homes’ Director of Development and Sales, Nick Wright, said: “This is fantastic news which will help us to build many more much needed affordable homes for local people of which 218 will be for shared ownership and 18 for rent-to-buy.”
Cross Keys Homes is committed to making a long-term positive difference providing a variety of tenures to suit individual’s needs. To date the housing association has already helped over 400 people get onto the property ladder thanks to their shared ownership scheme.
The grant fund totals £1.28bn, and from that 23,340 shared ownership and 11,063 rent-to-buy homes will be built along with 5,000 affordable rented homes in the supported housing sector.
