Forty-five new affordable homes have been provided in New Road, Woodston, thanks to Cross Keys Homes.
The development consisting of 31 affordable rented and 14 shared ownership homes is just one of the many developments Cross Keys Homes is working on to help provide much needed new affordable homes for the city.
Cross Keys Homes’ Director of Development and Sales, Nick Wright, said: “In the current climate finding affordable housing is harder than ever so I am delighted that this new development has helped to give 45 families and individuals a place to call home, at a price they can afford.”
Cross Keys Homes’ Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, added: “We want to ensure that local families and individuals are able to live happily and thrive in Peterborough and this is why we are committed as a social enterprise to getting it right and building the new affordable homes that are so desperately needed.”
Katy Mumford (pictured) was really pleased to move into one of the last new shared ownership homes built on site with her two children, Callum and Georgia.
Katy said: “Thanks to Cross Keys Homes’ shared ownership scheme I now have a wonderful family home which is affordable. Owning a part of this home has enabled me to get my foot onto the property ladder, something which would have been unmanageable without shared ownership, and in time I’m hoping to buy more shares as and when suits me financially. I cannot thank Cross Keys Homes enough; we absolutely love living here.”
Lindum Peterborough’s Managing Director, Mick Papworth, added: “As a local construction company, owned by its employees, we are proud to have been part of the team responsible for delivering these quality new homes. Many of our employees and their families live locally and understand first-hand the issues faced in finding suitable, affordable places to live so building these 45 homes is particularly rewarding and we look forward to helping to create even more in partnership with Cross Keys Homes going forward.”
The land was partly acquired by Peterborough City Council as well as a private land owner to make way for these much needed new affordable homes for the city.
Cross Keys Homes and Lindum Peterborough are also working together on another development in Eastfied which is nearing completion and will provide a further 16 new affordable homes for the city.
