C S Ellis Have Undertaken a Series of Interviews with Their Apprentices

Rutland-based logistics firm C S Ellis has recently undertaken a series of interviews with their apprentices to get a flavour of what it’s like to undertake a modern apprenticeship, why they enjoy working for C S Ellis and what they hope to achieve in the future.

C S Ellis have been operating for over eighty years, and in that time, they’ve employed many apprentices who have gone on achieve fantastic things with C S Ellis and with other businesses respectively.

The first interview released is with former Leicestershire apprentice of the year nominee, James Cook, who says, “After doing my GCSEs and then A-Levels, there didn’t seem to be many options as with what to do next. At school, I was encouraged to study A-levels, with the intention to go to university.” Says James.

He continues, “I was always interested in accountancy, and while considering my options I came across an apprenticeship at C S Ellis via the national apprenticeship website, which was simple to navigate and easy to apply for. The vacancy was for an accounts apprenticeship working towards the AAT level 3 qualification, which I successfully applied for in 2017.”

James concludes, “I see this as a job for life. You see it all around you here; people have been here a long time. A colleague of mine has just celebrated 30 years here!”
