With over 40 residents – from doctors to health care assistants and trainee solicitors – now residing at Cross Keys Homes (CKH) new Indigo development, a special event has been held to welcome residents to their new homes.
Indigo is located in the heart of Peterborough city centre and is set to provide 315 new apartments when it completes early next year, with residents already moving into the first phase of the scheme.
As the new Indigo community continues to grow, the housing association together with their management partner, LSH Residential, held an event to welcome residents together over some refreshments. The welcome event also provided an opportunity for residents to meet staff and talk about their moving in experience.
Rockie Mukubiya who moved in a couple of weeks ago with his partner, Elizabeth, said: “We moved from a semi-detached house not too far away, as Elizabeth wanted something more modern. The apartment is state of the art, it is amazing, and we can’t wait to enjoy living here.”
“The set-up of the parcel room is also very good; the design is superb, and we really love the communal balcony. We also like the system of reporting and communicating online which can be done from the comfort of our home.”
Jabeen Aslam, who has been living at Indigo for three weeks, added: “I have moved from Liverpool to start a new job in the hospital training to be a surgeon, and have only been in Peterborough for three weeks, so it has been a big move for me. I absolutely love the apartment, and it is very handy for me having Tesco just across the road and being close to work.”
Indigo offers a range of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and duplexes across two connected wings and is welcoming more new residents into the complex every week. To date, 41 of the 131 apartments that are available on this first phase have been rented out with a further 11 residents due to move in this week.
CKH Assistant Director of Housing Needs, Ali Manji, said: “It is great to see the new community continue to develop as we welcome more residents into their new apartments at Indigo. I hope all residents who attended the event had a wonderful time getting to know one another.”
Rebeccal O’Driscoll, Head of PRS Management for LSH Residential, added: “We are delighted to be welcoming residents to Indigo. Our Open Day enabled residents to meet one another in a relaxed environment and to also meet the team who are looking after the apartments and the building.”
Indigo apartments are being marketed at sub-market rent levels – set at 80% of private rent levels and are suitable for anyone who has a connection to Peterborough with a joint income of no more than £80,000 a year.
